Keynote - From MBA Graduate to AI Leader - Pathways to Leadership and Industry

Aseem Datar
Vice President, Next-Gen Computing & AI - Microsoft

Aseem scales businesses and is a seasoned operator. Presently he serves as Vice President for the next generation compute business for Microsoft (working on technologies including AI and quantum computing).  Most recently he was a Venture Capitalist at Madrona Venture Group investing in Enterprise companies. He has deep experience across engineering, product management all the way to leading global sales. In addition to shipping products like Windows and Office, he led growth and scale initiatives for Microsoft growing the Cloud business to multi-billion dollars over 10 years from its inception. While at Microsoft, Aseem is also active with startups, running a small investment fund and serving on various boards and as an advisor to early-stage companies. He is the founder of the Pacific Northwest Robotics Council and passionate about supporting young entrepreneurs.


Aseem holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington. He was also a Research fellow at the Applied Physics Lab before earning an MBA from the University of Washington. While at Microsoft, he also pursued his executive education from the Harvard Business School.

 

He is a Seattle 40 under 40 honoree and is also the recipient of the coveted Microsoft CMO Award for leading growth in emerging markets for both devices and SaaS and has worked to pass legislation in Washington State dealing with student aid programs.

Erik Cardenas
Co-Founder & CEO - Zócalo Health

Erik Cardenas is a distinguished healthcare executive with over two decades of experience, celebrated for his innovative contributions to the field by notable organizations such as Modern Healthcare, Fierce Pharma, and Rock Health in 2023. As the co-founder and CEO of Zócalo Health since August 2021, Erik has spearheaded the company’s efforts to revolutionize family medicine for the Latino community, merging advanced technology with culturally attuned care.
Before Zócalo Health, Erik served as Senior Manager at Amazon Care, where he oversaw technical teams and programs, playing a crucial role in Amazon's COVID-19 global testing initiative. His expertise in crafting customer-focused healthcare solutions is distinguished by a commitment to accessibility, transparency, and convenience.
Since March 2021, Erik has been on the Board of Directors for Rogers Behavioral Health, reflecting his dedication to extending his impact in healthcare beyond operational roles. His career has spanned innovative digital health startups and major health systems, including strategic management positions at Tenet Health and as a foundational team member at EverlyWell.
Erik is an advocate for diversity in entrepreneurship, understanding the value that minority leaders bring to organizations and communities. His commitment to promoting inclusivity in leadership positions is driven by a vision for a more equitable healthcare system.

Susan Daniel
Director Startups, Founder Guidance - Microsoft

Susan leads Founder Guidance in the Microsoft for Startups team, including the Founders Hub Expert Network. This mentoring platform allows Microsoft to help accelerate the success of startups by providing strategic advice that aids them in avoiding obstacles and steering them towards growth. Through this, Susan has led various programs aimed at supporting startups led by underrepresented minority founders and those operating in emerging markets. 

With over a decade of experience at Microsoft, Susan has held a broad range of roles across multiple businesses at the company. She was Chief of Staff for the CEO of Gaming and the President of Identity and Network Access. She had a key role as Director of Programs and Business Operations in the Chief Research and Strategy Office which encompassed Quantum Research, Healthcare and the Startup Business Group. Additionally, Susan was Portfolio Manager for Microsoft Worldwide Licensing in Sales and Marketing.
Prior to Microsoft, Susan worked in the airline industry leading multi-million-dollar transformation aircraft, IT and cargo programs at Alaska Airlines, Qantas Airways, the Oneworld alliance and Hawker de Havilland (a Boeing subsidiary).
Susan holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of New South Wales in Australia, and an MBA majoring in Executive Management and International Business from the University of Technology Sydney. She has completed Finance, Marketing and VC Management certificates through UCLA, Kellogg, and UC Berkeley, and is Green Belt Six Sigma certified.
Susan resides in Seattle with her family. Outside of work, Susan enjoys cooking, watching British comedies, and getting to the ocean whenever she can. 

ShiSh Shridhar
Global Retail Lead, Microsoft for Startups - Microsoft

ShiSh is the Global Lead for Retail with Microsoft for Startups and manages a portfolio of disruptive startups with cutting edge innovations to accelerate the digital transformation of the Retail Industry. ShiSh helps Startups scale through the assets & resources available through Microsoft including engineering, sales and research.


ShiSh has been with Microsoft for 25 years and is deeply passionate about solving business problems using Data & AI as a competitive asset.


ShiSh has worked with the Retail Industry for two decades and engaged with the top retailers and brands in the world helping with their digital transformation journeys.


ShiSh is part of Rethink Retails Top 100 Influencers for 2022 as well as the Retail Technology Influencers Top 100 list. Shish is on the Advisory Board of the Retail Transformation Center at George Mason University and is a Professional Advisor at the Foster School of Business at University of Washington.   

In his spare time ShiSh dabbles with IoT, Ham Radio and Location Tracking as well Ocean Navigation.  

Prasad Anguluri
Impact Entrepreneur, Visionary and Investor

Prasad is a multifaceted individual—Entrepreneur, Investor, Financial Architect, and Philanthropist. With over a decade of experience in implementing financial systems for various large clients, he continued his entrepreneurial journey in IT services and is now spearheading the development of Haply—a revolutionary community application dubbed "The Airbnb of neighborhood resources." Borrow what you need, lend or rent what you have, and access exclusive local deals—all in one hyper-local community app.

Passionate about making a positive global impact, Prasad believes in the endless pursuit of knowledge. He advocates for sharing experiences and knowledge to solve global challenges and make the world a better place.

Prasad relocated to the USA in 2003, settling first in Madison, WI, before moving to Bothell, WA, in 2005. Since then, he has been actively involved in community projects and supporting national and local non-profits. A nature enthusiast, he enjoys hiking, walking, cycling, and more. Prasad is supported in his entrepreneurial journey by his wife and two children.

Dawn Roe Millard
Certified Executive Coach, Training Facilitator, Achieve Global Certified Instructure, and Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Certified Facilitator

Dawn Roe Millard has over 30 years of professional and managerial experience in human resources, leadership development, coaching and consulting.  She has worked in a variety of industries both nationally and internationally, with global corporations, post-secondary institutions, and government entities. Her last position was Vice President Human Resources for RESIDE Worldwide, Inc., a premier provider of alternative and corporate housing solutions.  Prior to that, she was Director of Executive Education at the University of Washington Bothell and Director of Executive Education for New York University, Abu Dhabi. Ms. Millard has spent over twenty five years teaching human resource courses (both undergraduate and graduate) and facilitating leadership development programs for U.C. Berkeley Extension, University of Washington Bothell, and NYU Abu Dhabi Executive Education. Ms. Millard holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and an M.B.A. in Marketing, with Distinction, from National University.  She is a certified executive coach and training facilitator, an Achieve Global certified instructor, and a Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) certified facilitator.

Britt Provost
Chief Human Resources Officer - Siteimprove

Britt Provost is currently the Chief Human Resources Officer at Siteimprove.


Britt has over 20 years of experience leading People, Culture and Talent teams in global organizations of all sizes. Most of her work experience has had a consistent theme: high growth, global environments, experiencing rapid business change.  She has a demonstrated skill set working as a Strategic Business Advisor with senior executive teams and Boards of Directors, across multiple organizational designs (public, private equity, and venture capital-backed companies).

At her core, Britt believes in the power of people and with that, she’s passionate about leading conversations on the following topics:

- How to best develop, skill, and empower People Leaders.

- What coaching works best to energize individual agency and career fulfillment and growth.

- How to be part of the creation of a Future of Work that is inclusive, agile, and resilient.

She has been instrumental in the incubation, launch, and explosive growth of Teams from its inception to the 300M+ monthly active.

She has worked on various Microsoft products including Netgen, Windows Live Messenger, Microsoft Hohm, Microsoft Vine, Skype for Business and Teams.
